FAQ

Before you write

The questions we answer most often. If yours isn’t here, send it with your enquiry — we’ll cover it in the first reply.

What do you need from us to quote?

A part number, a BOM, a drawing, or a plain description of the problem. The more specific the input, the tighter the quote — but a rough description is enough to start.

How long does a quote take?

One business day for anything we can price from stock or a standing supplier, and three to five where the part has to be sourced or re-qualified. You hear from us either way on the first day.

Is the price a unit price or a landed cost?

Landed, to your dock, unless you ask for it split. Freight, duty, brokerage and insurance are on the same line as the goods, because those are the numbers that decide which supplier is actually cheaper.

How does the financing work?

We buy on our own account and carry the order until delivery. For programmes with a drawdown we can hold the stock in bond and clear it as you call it off, which spreads the duty across the year rather than the first week of it.

Who owns the goods in transit?

We do. Title passes to you at your dock, which means the claim on a damaged or delayed shipment is ours to make rather than yours to chase.

What happens if a batch fails inspection?

It does not ship. Inspection happens before dispatch and the document set is checked against it, so a failed batch is our problem with the supplier rather than a surprise on your line.
